Hey, To answer your question simply, there is no specific IDE to use to become a gameplay programmer. To be fair though, you should get used to working on Windows with Visual Studio since a lot of big AAA game developping studios use those platforms. The programming language you should be practicing should be C++. You should also look up Vectorial Algebra since it is used a lot in this domain. If you want to start to learn to program, you could head over to the c++ official website and do their tutorial or go to codeacademy.com and do the tutorial over there. Afterwards, you could try and make a small little game with the Unity Engine (free to use), although it is in C#, it is a good practice. You could also try Unreal Engine (also free) which works in C++ but is harder to start with as it is not as user friendly. Anyways, hope I answered some of your questions, if you have anymore, don't hesitate, I can answer you again. Have a nice day, Louis
